Get to know the results of the reports motivated by R&D&I.
During the month of February, the Ministry of Science and Innovation (MCI) presented a new report with the results of the system of issuing motivated reports for companies regarding the fiscal year 2019.
This report reflects the evolution of R&D & Innovation tax incentives in Spain and analyzes their sectorial and regional weight, making visible the state of innovation through companies’ investment in innovation and research personnel.
What are R&D&I tax incentives?
Tax incentives are part of the set of programs and lines of incentives aimed at promoting business competitiveness, favoring the country’s development through the technological progress of companies and increasing their efforts in R&D&I investment.
The deduction for carrying out R&D&I activities is considered one of the main ways to encourage business innovation.
Highlights of the Report:
- Large increase in MVIs of ICT (Computer Science) projects, representing 31.2% of total reports, and consolidation of Industrial Technology projects.
- Increase of applicant companies (SMEs 61% vs. Large Companies 39%).
- The Chemical and Food sectors once again had a significant weight (among the top five sectors that most use this tax incentive).
These data reflect the commitment of companies to intensify their innovative activity year after year.
